About me

About me

Hi, my name is Danielle Morrison and I am the Founder and creator at Wyoming Soap & Candle or as I like to call it, WYSC. Here and there you may find places where I have played with that name like "Get WYSC'd away by my fun amazing products."

I started making soap, lotions and chap sticks in 2000. I was working, going to school and trying to figure things out on my own for the first time. I loved all of the things at the popular bath & body stores, but I had two problems. One, I was a starving student and could not afford to buy anything there and two, when I thought about making my own and looked at the ingredients, I had no clue where to buy any of those things and to be honest, could not even pronounce most of those words. I was aware that the skin was the largest organ of the body and started to wonder if there was a way that I could make my own products without any of the ick and stick within my budget. I started reading up on soaps and lotions and looking online as much as I could. Soon, I was experimenting in my kitchen making all sorts of things. I turned into a hobby and I would make extra for friends and family to give as gifts for birthdays and Christmas. After I got married in 2004 my mother in law, who also made soap invited me to my first craft fair and the rest is history.

Below is a photo of me and my guinea pigs, I mean family. They have been a huge support over the years and continue to help me with product testing, development & growing my business. My husband is a police officer, my oldest son works in the oil fields, my second son is an electrician, my daughter works in food service, my youngest son is an expert of mud pies and when I'm not making products, I am either selling houses for Century 21 BHJ or cleaning them (or other local businesses). Either way, when I say my family is a big support, I mean it. They all are my best customers and all have different needs when it comes to getting clean, healing or repair.
